Long House

Project Type:

New Build

Location:

East Sussex

Project Description

The project is a new single-storey, two-bedroom eco house in Brighton. The dwelling takes the local vernacular, reinterprets it, and enhances the existing street scene with a unique contemporary building of high architectural merit, built with Passive principles in mind.

The house has been designed to follow the natural lines of the site and respond to the slope downward in section. The linear form echoes the adjacent train tracks; the line of the tracks, window proportions and connecting carriages have inspired the design concept.

For this project we have completed the RIBA Stages 1-4.

Stage 1 - Preparation & Brief

Stage 2 - Concept Design

Stage 3 - Spatial Coordination

Stage 4 - Technical Design
